To start with, I'm having these feelings for a certain antisocial werewolf and his sweet, tempered brother-who just happens to be a sorcerer-but, between you and me, I'm leaning toward the werewolf.

Not normal.

My friends and I are also on the run from an evil corporation that wants to get rid of us-permanently.

Definitely not normal.

And finally, I'm genetically altered necromancer who can raise the dead, rotting corpses and all, without even trying.

As far away from normal as it gets.

My Review

Wow!!!! That’s what I said when I read the final words of the book. Wow is not even a word but the story left me literally speechless. That good it was.

It’s the last book in the Darkest Powers series and it’s the best of all three. You really get to know the characters better and let me tell you that Tori really surprised me. She’s not bad after all. Tori becomes more reliable and finds herself liking their company, now that her family doesn't care for her. Chloe seems to understand and makes sure nothing gets between her and the boys that still don't believe that Tori has changed.

Derek finally finishes his transformation with Chloe's help and they find out that there is no one they can trust. They are not even sure about their dad at this point. Chloe realizes her range of power and use it finally for her defence.

The book was fast passed as the previous with more Derek and Chloe moments giving me the opportunity to see their relationship grow between them.

The author really knows who to tell a story and make it believable. Kelly Armstrong is really talented and she made Chloe sound like a real teenager without littering the language.

But what made me love this book most was the ending. I’ve read other reviews and the ending is either love it or hate it feeling. For me it was perfect. Sure there are things that are not explained but that’s why she’s having another trilogy based on the same word. I can’t say much about the ending because I’ll spoil it but the words just left me breathless.

"So that's what Tori's mom meant. You raised zombies at the Lyle House."

If you had meet me a few weeks ago, you probably would have described me as an average teenage girl-someone normal. Now my life has changed forever and I'm as far away from normal as it gets. A living science experiment-not only can I see ghosts, but I was genetically altered by a sinister organization called the Edison Group. 

What does that mean? For starters, I'm a teenage necromancer whose powers are out of control: I raise the dead without even trying. Trust me, that is not a power you want to have. Ever.

Now I'm running for my life with three of my supernatural friends-a charming sorcerer, a cynical werewolf, and a disgruntled witch- and we have to find someone who can help us before the Edison Group finds us first. Or die trying.

My Review

 Following Chloe in this second book of the Darkest Powers trilogy was so much fun. 

We get to see Chloe struggling with new information about her and along with Derek and Simon and Tori, travel from town to town to get to the only person they know that could get them a safe shelter and give them some explanations. 

Along the road and some misfortune incidents, we get to see another Chloe. A girl that's struggling to keep that good old girl behavior she had, while everything around her keeps changing and she finds herself changing as well. She gets more aggressive and more independent. She starts loosing trust in almost everyone expect from the two brothers that promised her that they will keep her safe. 

This was so much better than the first book. There is more action going on and we see another side of Tori I thought it never existed. In the first book I hated her but now I feel sorry for her. Derek seems to talk more now that they are on the run and Chloe getting to test her limits. Something she never thought of in her previous secure life. 

Kelley Armstrong managed to deliver a sitting-on-the-edge book with quick passing pages that doesn’t make you bored at all. I couldn't guess what will happen next and that's a plus! It wasn't predictable at all!

Overall I would say go grab the book now!

All I wanted was to make friends, meet boys, and keep on being ordinary. I don't even know what means anymore. It all started on the day I saw my first ghost-and the ghost saw me.

Now there are ghosts everywhere and they won't leave me alone. To top it all off, I somehow got myself locked up in Lyle House, a "special home" for troubled teens. Yet the home isn't what it seems. 

Don't tell anyone, but I think there might be more to my housemates than meets the eye. The question is, whose side are they on? It's up to me to figure out the dangerous secrets behind Lyle House...before it's skeletons come back to haunt me.

Chloe Saunders used to have a relatively normal life. But now she finds herself in the middle of some really strange situations:

-She suddenly starts seeing dead people.

-She gets locked up in a group home for instable teens.

-The group home isn’t what it seems....

My Review

This book is very interesting and spooky I would say especially if you read at night before bed as I do. I really enjoyed reading this book; I literally couldn’t put it down. Make sure you have the next book because you will be dying to find out what happens next.

Basically the first book starts with Chloe seeing ghosts and other events that happens in Lyle House but it doesn’t explain anything. So you will need the next one.

The storyline is very promising and the writing is excellent. It’s a page turner and as the characters run for their lives you will find yourselves turning the pages like crazy to see what happens to them.

The characters are enjoyable but I didn’t bond with any of them, hopefully the next book will change that.

Overall it’s a good paranormal read nothing romantic going on as I hoped to but there are two more books so cross your fingers!
